Help, I Have Problems: A Review

Advil, Aleve, Tylenol – we all have our brands of choice. But sometimes, I think all this shit is the same. When I first got this kit, as a gift, I was skeptical. Mostly, because it was so no-name. But the more research I did, I found that these pills were probably the best idea ever.

Each pill has only one active ingredient and is low on fillers, coatings and dyes. And did I mention the packaging is eco-friendly? So far, I’ve only tried the Help, I Have a Headache (it worked) and I gave a co-worker one of the loratadine tablets from the Help, I Have Allergies package. I can’t say for sure I would Buy it for myself ($30), but I would certainly give it as a gift, especially for the office. I’d like to see one that says Help, I’m in the kind of pain that could erupt in spontaneous ass-kicking.

be.ez LA besace LIME DROP [Review]

LAbesace15-limedrop-34.jpg

While the market is flooded with carrying cases and sleeves for your uber trendy MacBook, none have really sparked my interest in the area of function and fashion as this be.ez La besace.  While the bag sports a low key gray exterior, the interior of the bag is done in lime green, featuring tons of storage space and pockets as well.

LAbesace15-limedrop-open.jpg The rear of the bag has a specially crafted pocket for your 15 in. MacBook, as well as a velcro strap to keep it snug.  There are also two additional pockets that are large enough to fit a sweater, a couple of books, magazines, and maybe a few snacks.  I recently took this bag with me on a trip across the country with my two small children, and used it as more of a diaper bag that held my computer, than a business bag.  It was great!  Going through security was a breeze as well, as the MacBook popped right out, and was easy to slide back in after the security check.  The entire bag actually zips closed as well, keeping your items secure through travels or walking through campus.  One of the selling points of this bag for me, was the fact that it is completely waterproof.  The rainproof nylon material that the bag is constructed out of keeps all of the weather elements out, keeping your precious cargo tucked away safely. Here are some other high points of the bag:

  • High-density padding up to 8mm thick provides maximum protection
  • Rainproof nylon fabric protects notebooks from the elements
  • Multiple pockets, pen holders and zippers keep belongings organized & secure
  • Eye-catching gray exterior & lime green interior

If you want one for yourself, the bags are available on Amazon.com, AppleStore.com and select retailers around the US and Canada.  They retail for $89.00 and you can check out the other colorways and designs at www.be-ez.com.

City Skyline Vinyl Giveaway!

skyline
NerdLike has been vinyl obsessed lately. With so many uses, these things are great for permanent or temporary spaces, and especially great for those of us who are…non committal when it comes to design. This week, we have Custom Silhouettes in the house, a company who specializes in making custom silhouettes from your personal photographs. While I do like their personal touch, what really caught my eye was their variety of city skylines.

The skylines are a great way to bring a twinge of pride & joy to your living space. When we see our hometown city or favorite place to visit up in our home, dorm, or office, it is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.

When you order a skyline from Custom Silhouettes, you get to choose the color and size that will accommodate your space. The decal is thinner than paper, but very durable and lasts indefinitely inside and for many years outside.

Now to the good stuff, Custom Silhouettes is sponsoring a giveaway, offering one lucky winner  a 10″x40″ skyline of the city of their choice! [valued at 20.00]

Welcome to Brooklynati!

your-brooklynati-dmv
While you may have heard the recently released album by Tanya Morgan, Brooklynati, you may not have visited the fabled residence. Noted as the happiest place on Earth, next to Disneyland, Brooklynati has quickly become a tourist destination rivaling New York City, Paris, France and Beijing, China.

Immerse yourself in the city’s culture by creating your own Driver’s License and taking an online tour. Mine didn’t come out so great, but hopefully yours will be stellar.

Solar Charging BackPack.

solar-charging-backpack-unisex

Go green and stay productive with this solar charging backpack. The backpack uses solar panels to charge cell phones, iPods, iPhones, PDAs, and most other small electronic devices. No, you don’t have to be outside either…it works just as well in indoor lighting. Within 4-6 hours your device will be back up and running, while you are on the go. Also, there is a headphone port to listen/connect to the device WHILE it is charging.

Jesus. This thing is amazing.

Sit or Squat?

When it comes to using the bathroom in public establishments, I can be quite the germiphobe, so I completely understand the need for such a site as Sit or Squat…however, there is still a part of me that is saying, has it really come to this? With mobile web and GPS, we can really do anything.

Sit or Squat is a website that directs you to the closest restroom and then proceeds to inform you if it is safe for you to sit, or to just go ahead and squat. It integrates well with both BlackBerrys and iPhones, making it convenient for almost everyone on-the-go. I took the chance of locating my nearest Starbucks, and checking out the toilet. 4 stars and an official sit stamp makes me feel safe again.

Accent Identifier.

I have always wondered what a ‘California accent’ was, since I have always been told that I have one. So, I found this Accent Identifier to help me determine if I, in fact, do have the so-called accent my brother speaks of, or if he is just so East Coast that everything sounds foreign. After trying it 3 times, I am sad to report…

He won.

Splurge to Save Time.

Since August, the TSA has changed it’s laptop policy for air travel. You may keep the laptop in the bag, as long as you are using one of the 3 approved bag styles that are allowed at the checkpoint. This has always been an extreme irritation of mine; having to unpack everything only to pack it all up again in a tiny little area, along with 10 other people. I am seriously considering purchasing one of these Tom Bihn’s bags.

Devil’s Playground.

In Zimbabwe, tourists love to swim on the edge of the world, a little tidepool by the name of “The Devil’s Swimming Pool”. If you ask me, they are insane. See WaldosPost for the rest of the pictures.
