There was recently a scientific study done, showing how land in New York is going to change as oceans rise over the years.¬† A lot of the areas ‘under the blue’ are places I’ve hung out in the past…so I’m starting to get a bit nervous!

Diego Stocco wondered if it would be possible to play music from a tree. He decided to tune it [using a pencil sharpener], record some tracks on Pro Tools and then got to playing. This is freakin’ amazing.

Ohhh, how beauty obsessed are we? The FDA has recently approved a drug called Latisse, which is said to lengthen, thicken and darken eyelashes when dabbed daily on the lash line on the lids with a disposable wand. At $120 month (it takes 2-4 months to take effect), is it worth it? Falsies cost $10 bucks a pop, although they take a genius to put on. I nearly suffered an anxiety attack with one of my best friends, Gelly, as we were both attempting to glue those bad boys on each other. As for me, I may hold out, especially after reading the side effects:

Some 4 percent of users experience eye itching and redness, and it may also temporarily darken the skin of the eyelid, according to the company.

Toddlers Tested for Sporty DNA?

Atlas Sports Genetics charges $149 to tell you if your child [as young as toddler age] has the correct DNA make up to create an athletic superstar.

A 2003 study of elite athletes found that speed athletes were more likely to have two copies of the R variant of the gene, while endurance athletes were more likely to have two copies of the X.

As a mom…this is too much. Whatever happened to letting the kids be kids? If the test shows they are extra athletic, what happens to those kids? Do they spend their entire lives trying to live up to a destiny they may never achieve?
