Call phones from Gmail

Thats right, Google is introducing to users over the next few days a way to call telephones directly from your Gmail account. The service has been rumored ever since Google bought out Gizmo5, but now it is actually rolling out. For the rest of the year, user will be able to make calls to the US and Canada completely free, and to other countries at very low rates.

How does it work? It is all pretty simple, while in your gmail, just click “Call phone” at the top of your chat list and dial a number or enter a contact’s name. That’s it.

Whats even cooler, at least in my eyes, is that Google will be putting red phone booths in college campuses, airports and such so people can try out GV.

Google Allowing Multiple Account Sign-In

I have like three different Google Accounts. I have my personal/bills account, my nerdlike/gmail account, and I have my original gmail account I opened. Each of these accounts has a specific use and they help my keep my inbox organized. Well over the last few days, Google has rolled out a feature that I have been longing for since I started managing separate accounts; multiple sign-in.

Unfortunately, I am not one of the lucky ones that has been part of the roll-out just yet. However, you should see it in the next few days. To check, just go to your Google accounts page and see if you have the options in the image above. Here is what you get with the new update:

  • You can sign into a maximum of three accounts at once.
  • The first account you sign in with when you’re setting up multiple sign-in will be set to your default account
  • You can’t use Offline Gmail or Calendar with the multiple sign-in feature.
  • Multiple sign-ins only work with these Google apps—that is, Google App Engine, Code, Calendar, Gmail, Reader, Sites, and Voice support the multiple sign-in feature. Most notably, Google Docs isn’t yet supported, but it’s marked as coming soon.

Let us know if it activates for you. WE.ARE.STILL.WAITING……

Blackberry 6 OS Teaser Video

Though Blackberry may have things on lock when it comes to getting you your email, the entire OS experience has been lacking to say the least. Both Apple and Google have made tremendous strides with their respective operating systems and continue to widen he gap. But RIM has not been resting on its lions. In fact, BBOS6 should be quite an advancement in the experience category if the video below is more than just fancy camera tricks.  The video shows features like aggregated social network integration, universal search, and the all-new WebKit-based browser (Thank GOODNESS). Take a look and let us know what you think.

A Search Engine With Wisdom

WolframAlpha generates output by doing computations from its own internal knowledge base. It does some thinking. For example, a search for ‘How do I cure a sinus infection?’ returns a breakdown of the four treatments most commonly proscribed by doctors, based on gender. Wolfram’s got a sense of humor too: type in ‘What is Love?’ and get several answers, including ‘Baby don’t hurt me. Don’t hurt me, no more.’ Not only is Wolfram a thinking search engine, it apparently also listens to early 1990s dance music.

100 Most Popular Websites In the World

Picture 2

Google just released a list of the 100 most popular websites in the world. They left themselves off the list, so they couldn’t occupy the #1 spot. However, the company that is #1 should be of no surprise considering you are on it all day at work. I recognize a lot of the list, but some of them I have never heard of. Tells you how big this thing called the Internet really is. [Top1000]

Guess the Google.

Guess-the-google

Check out this game I stumbled upon, by the name of Guess the Google.  It feeds random Google Images and gives you 20 seconds per photo to guess.  Fun little way to pass time in the office, dontcha think?
