Fennec!

October 17, 2008 By: Jazzy Category: Internet

For those of you tired of using Opera, or your PDA’s standard web browser, try Fennec. Created by Mozilla [they've had a big week I see], it is the mobile version of everyone’s favorite browser; Firefox. While this version is meant for testing only, it has great features for it’s first go around.

  • Bookmarks, including tags
  • Smart URL bar (”awesome bar”)
  • Tabbed browsing with thumbnail images
  • Integrated Web search - built into the URL bar
  • Easy access to multiple search engines

Download it here if you are feeling adventurous.

FireFox 3.1 Beta.

October 15, 2008 By: Jazzy Category: Internet

Mozilla has put out a beta version of it’s mega hit browser, FireFox. 3.1 promises to be faster, contain added CSS support and newly formatted tabs.

NOTE:
It took me a good 10 minutes to learn how to use the 3D tabbing feature. You have to hold ctrl and then press tab.

Add-On Obsessed.

I have about 30 add-ons integrated in my FireFox browser, and TwitterBar will make it 31. TwitterBar allows you to post to Twitter directly from your FireFox address bar. I know, I know, not really that exciting, but I am all about convenience!

3.1 was recently released for developers, with a Beta following within the next month, and the full version at the close of the year. Built on the Gecko platform, it is supposed to be the new ‘it’ browser.
