Cynthia Rowley, known for her high style, is kissing your boo-boos. Well, sort of. She’s teamed up with Band-Aid to bring a lovely little collection of “Dress-Up Band-Aids.”
$10 gets you a chic metal tin of 20 ( buy them here). One dollar from the sale of each tin will go to Design Ignites Change, an organization that engages high school and college students in design and architecture projects that address social issues in their own communities. Wherever Left Eye is, I hope she knows her impact is still being felt in the most whimsical and hearty ways.

Currently on view at Zurich’s Museum Bellerive, the exhibition “Pap(i)er Fashion” reveals the ancient material’s cultural, aesthetic and political history throughout fashion. From its invention in China (approximately 100 A.D.) to modern-day uses as both a print medium and a textile, the show juxtaposes the the ephemeral use of paper alongside its more timeless qualities. Veik, an artistic doll collector that hails from Beijing, recently showcased his collection of Lady Gaga styled Barbies. Taking inspiration from some of Gaga’s most memorable outfits, the dolls all feature a true to scale rendition of her aesthetic. I can’t choose a favorite, since they all show so much attention to detail [from hairstyle, down to shoe choice.] via Joonbug
A little while ago we introduced you to the beauty that is Dealers of the Purple Cloth, and now we are back with a giveaway for the ladies! If you are unfamiliar with the company, take a look at our previous post, or check the bio below:
Dealers of the Purple Cloth is a company created to nurture individuality and personal expression. They support the people who challenge the status quo and who treat fashion as a lifestyle, not as an economic decision. Dealers of the Purple Cloth encourages you to create your own style, just as they are trying to create their own blueprint for success in this game. Innovation breeds longevity and Dealers of the Purple Cloth is here to make history.
Dealers of the Purple Cloth is teaming up with NerdLike to give one lucky contestant an F-Bombs Tee from their Fall/Holiday ’09 Collection. This tee features a graphic of their very own Purple Princess riding a bomb that’s just about to blow and “DROPPING F-BOMBS DAILY” printed across the back. Now how witty is that?
This band may look a little suspect, since not all of them have a visible instrument. Well, if you look closely, the Guitar Tee that one of them is wearing is actually a fully functional guitar, complete with a mini-amp that hooks onto your belt. Check out the vid for a demo.
jehnepenne also known by her given name, Jenni Ashcroft, is a Texan mom who has taken her love for knitting and turned it into a fashionable business. She specializes in unique knitted goods as well as salvaged wood designs. Amongst her designs is a piece that I absolutely fell in love with upon first glance, the Almost Famous Cowl.
This cowl is designed to keep you warm in the Fall and Winter seasons. It’s chunky yet remarkably light to the touch, making it easy to keep you warm and looking chic regardless of the time of day or outfit you are trying to pair it with. Each one is also handmade and can be made in any colorway of your choice. In fact, when sending the review item, jehnepenne asked me what my signature colors were, and then took the reigns to design a piece that was one of a kind for me.
Each of these cowls are made of an acrylic/wool blend and are machine washable. No matter if you indicate the cowls to be for personal use or as a gift, the packaging is beautiful. It comes ready to gift, literally, with a ribbon tied gift bag and colorful tissue paper.
As you can see from the multiple photos, there are multiple different ways that you can wear the cowl, either tucked into your favorite peacoat or loose around your neck, as shown above. You can also pull the cowl up over the lower half of your face, to protect you from the cold or maybe the swine flu?

JailBreak Toys is the mind behind the Obama Action Figures, and now they have released Action Figures in the form of everyone’s favorite first lady since Jackie O.; Michelle Obama. Sporting highly identifiable dresses, you have the option of three, and of course, they are all sleeveless to show off Mrs. Obama’s toned arms! You can choose between the purple “fist bump” dress, the black and white dress she wore on The View and her memorable black and red Election Day attire.
I could totally see this in Downtown LA or in New York’s Fashion District, but instead…I found this on a blog that I totally couldn’t understand. Either way, you don’t need a translator to understand the awesomeness of these photos. via Fubiz
