While this idea might be a bit taboo for some of you out there, I think it is adorable. My husband and I are both covered in tattoo art, and believe in creative expression, no matter the form. This new kit from Kids, Ink allows kids to draw on their own jailhouse tattoos, with four non-toxic pens and tons of stencils. Get the kit here for $10.

Coming in five different flavors; Strawberry, Peach, Original, Apple Cinnamon and Caramel, everyone is satisfied. My son’s favorite was the Peach, while I loved the Strawberry and Original. The bags were the perfect size to slip into my purse for an afternoon workout, or in my son’s backpack for a quick snack at school. And the best thing of all? Each bag contains only 35 itty bitty calories and no fat or glutens!!!
Veik, an artistic doll collector that hails from Beijing, recently showcased his collection of Lady Gaga styled Barbies. Taking inspiration from some of Gaga’s most memorable outfits, the dolls all feature a true to scale rendition of her aesthetic. Recently, we have seen a surge of these learning bikes, all going by different names to serve the same purpose.; to teach your tot/small child how to ride a two wheeler with confidence [sans training wheels]. The Strider Bike is one of the forerunners in this genre of bikes, providing a solid balancing bike to help your child cruise down the street without the risk of wobbles and tip-overs.
One thing you will probably immediately notice about these bikes is that there are no pedals. I know, this concept seemed odd to me at first also, but check out the vid for more of an explanation:
The Strider™ teaches your child balance, coordination and develops glittering confidence. Trikes and bikes with training wheels don’t. Traditional bicycles place too much of the focus on learning to pedal — skimping on developing your child’s motor skills. And these bikes are heavy, clunky and difficult for kids to control.
Bike riding becomes a breeze when you teach your child balance and coordination before pedaling. The Strider™ takes pedaling out of the mix so that kids can concentrate solely on learning balance, which takes more practice. Pedaling is a secondary skill that kids can easily learn within a few short minutes.
The Review:
We were sent a Strider Bike for our 33 month old son, Sevyn, and I have to admit, I was a bit concerned about pushing him down the street and ‘hoping’ he didn’t fall over. After all, there are no pedals, no brakes, and let’s face it…he’s only two!!! But, with the encouragement of my husband, we put the bike together and took a chance. The assembly of the bike was a bit more difficult than anticipated, the instructions were a bit vague, but eventually, we got it together. After assembly, Sevyn hopped on the bike and began pushing himself around the house with his feet. Soon after, we strapped a helmet on him and took him outside for the big reveal. Following the teaching instructions in the box, we held him by his shirt, gave a small push and hoped for the best.
While the first few times were a bit trying, I have to admit, there were no falls. Just as the site says, once he felt uneasy, he planted his feet on the ground to avoid falling. While it has been about a week, we are making slow and steady progress, and he is becoming less afraid and actually picking his feet up while the bike is in motion.
The Recommendation:
The Striker Bike is designed for children 1 – 5, however, out of the box I can see this working up until age 4. There is an adjustable seat you can put on the bike for your tall or growing child, but it is not included in the initial set up. At 2.5, my average size son is the perfect size for the bike. Other than that, the running/learner bike is a great idea for the small child, building confidence as well as teaching them right out of the gate to ride on two wheels. While a bit pricey at $99.00, the bike itself is a great investment, if bought early enough and especially if you have multiple children.
Do you have a small child ready to ride on two wheels? Well Strider Sports is giving away one of their bikes to one of you!

The PlasmaCar, an interesting buggy that seems so simple, is by far one of my favorite products to have reviewed for NerdLike. Retailing at $69, the PlasmaCar is a ‘human powered’ pedal car, that goes by the use of inertia. You don’t have to understand it…all you have to do is enjoy it. The car needs no batteries, no Popeye strength, just the ability to move the wheel side to side, as if you are operating a go kart video game at the arcade.
PlasmaCar sent me a red car to review, and I am not sure who has spent more time on it, my sons or myself. Made from state-of-the-art, high-quality ABS plastics, they are both rugged and durable. PlasmaCar’s sport six wheels, a seat, footrests, and a steering wheel. Notice, I didn’t mention any pedals. Again, the car moves based on science, not your feet or any batteries. Check out Zion’s first go on the PlasmaCar:
If you have a little chick racer, don’t worry. The PlasmaCar comes in a multitude of colors, including blue, green, purple and pink.
Here’s how it works:
To propel the PlasmaCar, you rotate the steering wheel continuously from left to right. It also works in reverse. To zoom backwards, just switch the set of four front wheels around so that the larger ones are closest to the front of the car. To stop your PlasmaCar, just cease rotating the steering wheel and, when the car slows, put your feet on the ground to bring it to a full stop-easy as pie. Think of it as a Segway for kids.
Do you want a PlasmaCar of your own? NerdLike has one to give you!

As a kid, I was into comic books…but nothing like my brothers and some of my cousins. In fact, I don’t know a man who didn’t dream of being a comic book hero as a kid [and sometimes still as an adult]. Well, Marvel has a surprise for your inner child, allowing you to create your own Comic Book and/or Strip! Check it out here.
Johnson & Johnson has decided to target the pop crowd with the release of their MTV Band-Aids, which showcase classic artwork by Brazilian artists Carla Barth and João Lelo. Don’t get your hopes up yet, so far these will only be available in Brazil….damn damn damn. Oh well, back to the Spongebobs!
Check out a new way for amusement parks to stick you for your paper; these fancy thrill ride videos [as seen on the Rip Ride Rocket]. While we have seen rides with localized cameras that take a snapshot of your ride, this roller coaster has cameras at every row, plus more on the tracks, and even allows you the ability to choose the song you want to hear while you ride it using a personal touch-screen that you program before you leave the station. via WalletPop
I was pretty positive that my kids had the illest dance moves around [you gotta see the Dirty Diana body roll] but this kid…my gawd. He has taken Flo-Rida’s song to a whole new level. My favorite part is when he’s in the chorus dancing to ‘the whole club is lookin’ at herrrr.’
