The holiday shopping season is upon us, but it’s not just the season to give. It’s the season to give back. Lucky for recessionistas, you can do both at once. Many companies offer product that donates to charity, but none more thoughtfully than Philosophy
I am a huge fan of their shower gels, particularly the children imagery and beautifully written descriptions and thoughts on the packaging. One of my favorite gifts to buy are the charity products they offer (try the Chocolate Chip Cookies) Philosophy supports everything from the fight against cancer and sexual assault to helping out PBS. And it’s not just a portion of proceeds to support the cause, it’s 100%.
Keep checking back with us at Nerdlike throughout the season to stay up on the gifts that give back.

Save the Children Australia is hosting an online gallery showcasing their new campaign to make injustice for children a thing of the past. While it can be easy to forget when it’s not shoved in your face, tt’s 2009, yet things like child prostitution, child soldiers and child deaths from unclean water still plague us. Do your part.

TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: For every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One.
While they have tons of Keds inspired designs, I was most intrigued by their Vegan Wrap boot. The have the potential to be so many things, and I absolutely love it. Not only that, but for under 100.00, you can buy a stylish and health conscious shoe, and also provide a pair of shoes for a child in need.

Sunny days are just about here again and a lot of ladies are ready for a summer cut. If you’re thinking about cutting your lovely locks, don’t just let the hair hit the salon floor. Think about donating it to a charity. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from medical hair loss. So if you have at least 10 inches of hair you are going to get rid of, put in a ponytail, get it cut and give it to a kid who needs it.

Digital Gravel has partnered with many brands, including BOMBIN’ MAGAZINE for the DG WATER PROJECT. The projects goal is to raise money for the construction of a clean water pump in Africa. This hoodie features all the problems that plague Africa in white text, but just before the despair can set in, “Clean Water & Playgrounds” appears in the end in blue print to suggest that even we can help be a small part of the solution. The small print below reads: DG x BOMBIN’ x YOU: HEAL THE WORLD. Only 24 men’s hoodies ever printed.
