Despite the advantage offered by the iPhone, many of us still miss the tactile touch of a hardware keyboard. Instagram has officially become every iPhone user’s favorite app for posting quality photos for their friends and followers to see. Yet, as widespread as the popular app is, there hasn’t been a medium to use Instagram on your regular, everyday computer… until now. Inkstagram (how clever!) allows you to manage, browse, like and comment on Instagram photos from the comfort of your web browser. I’m sure you iPhone users will love having the extra additional access through Inkstagram.

The New Yorker became the first magazine to offer a digital in-app subscription via the iPad. Conde Nast president Robert Sauerberg Jr., announced that seven other publications under his empire — Vanity Fair, Glamour, Golf Digest, Allure, Wired, Self and GQ — will offer digital iPad subscriptions by the end of May.  Not even Oprah’s mag launches its in-app subscription service until July. And Time is still holding out.

“We are now first to market in selling subscriptions and very proud to be partnering with Apple in that process,” Sauerberg told me during a sit-down discussion, that included Apple vice president for Internet Services Eddy Cue and New Yorker editor David Remnick.

First music, then books, and now, as predicted comes the magazines and newspapers. Cherish your local book stores and newspapers, their future is on shaky ground.

If you think that Apple has a lot of Apps, you should check out their Widget library.¬† With it being Xmas season, our online shopping has increased – so I went hunting for a UPS/USPS tracking app.¬† I haven’t had much luck with them in the past, but I came across Delivery Status and decided to give it a shot.

Last week we were sent an array of cases to test out on our brand new iPhone 4, which has become less of a gadget and more like a third child to me.  The PDA/Smart Phone/Mini Computer/Creation of God is always in my pocket or purse and while I used to be a Blackberry girl, I find that I actually cannot complete any task in my life without an App.

To protect the investment, you need a good, quality case.  If you purchased your iPhone 4 before September, then chances are you were grandfathered into their case program.  If not, then you may want to continue reading.  Arriving at NerdLike Headquarters were two cases from iSkin, as well as two from AGF, who were contracted by AT&T.  Check out the review below:

REVIEW

Both the iSkin solo and revo4 were visually appealing, coming in an array of colors for any gender and age.¬† I opted for the Clear as well as the Hot Pink so that I could alternate dependent on how snazzy I was feeling that day.¬† In regards to the feel and aesthetic of the cases, the solo definitely feels more durable, crafted out of a tougher polymer that is also phthalate-free.¬† This is particularly important as the chemical has been getting a ton of press lately for potentially causing liver, lung, kidney and testes’ damage.¬†¬† However, the revo4 is the more logical choice when it comes to durability, coming with a silicone shield to protect the highest resolution screen in cell phone history.¬† The downside?¬† You can’t actually use the touchscreen while that silicone screen is intact.¬† Wack.

Of all of the cases, the AGF Vandelay was hands down, my favorite.¬† In fact, it’s my favorite case out of ALL of the cases I own, including the one from Apple’s Case Program.¬† After using the Vandelay for the last week, I’m not shocked that AT&T licensed the case to be sold within their stores…it’s that great.¬† Constructed out of polished ot soft touch plastic, the shell features opulent inlayed materials.¬† While all of that is fine and good, it’s not the feature that makes this case the front runner.¬† It’s the ability to dock the phone with the case still on, by simply removing the small, bottom portion where the charger is inserted.¬† It also comes with a holster to clip the phone onto your belt loop.

We drink a lot of the Apple kool-aid around here, so it is good to see some of the Office for 2011 features pop up around the interwebs. In the embedded teaser video, we see glimpses of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and even Outlook. Yes. We finally get Outlook.

Besides that, it look to be pretty standard and now includes a full screen view for Word. As a writer, this is something I really appreciate. [BGR]

On a side note, I really like the song. LOL
