It seems as if Oscar the Grouch was ahead of his time when it comes to recession-proof housing. In today’s day and age, when money is tight and rooms even tighter, people are finding every which way they can to live affordably. The gentleman in the video above has made the best out of next to nothing, creating what seems to be a sustainable living arrangement in none other than a garbage dumpster. As menial as the abode seems, it’s actually somewhat comfy given the small space, and has a lot of amenities to make it environment friendly. Now, if only Greg could get people to stop tossing bottles and old newspapers into his living room…

Shampoo isn’t nerdy. But Pert Plus is at least making it funny with their newest ad campaign. Taking it to the animal world, the shampoo company shows the zoological ills of not keeping your hair well washed and groomed. The new ads are so corny, they fall into the nerd jurisdiction, but uber-effective. Seriously, how many people do you know that could benefit from a bit of hygienic intervention from the good people at Pert Plus? Last week I came across a web series that I fell in love with, just because of the name. The Mis-Adventure of An Awkward Black Girl is the story of J., a quirky chick who navigates through life and love in awkward situations. As one of the only comedic shows on the air with black female lead, the show is a mix of The Office, Parks & Recs and Community – a cluster of satire that I just can’t get enough of. You can officially call this post my late pass.

The Mural of Memorable Moments in Dance was an poetry/painting installation at The Governors Ball, a one day music and arts festival on Governors Island in New York City on June 18, 2011. It featured a large scale painting of prose, a dance floor, and a time lapse video set to record all of the spontaneous, theatrical, and impromptu interactions of the 2011 Ballers.

Improv MP3 Experiment July 16

Improv Everywhere are planning to cause organized chaos once again today. In a few hours (20.00 EDT) IE will start their MP3 Experiment. The experiment involves users downloading an MP3 track of the IE website, there are two tracks to chose from, participants are told to chose one based on the month they were born.Participants will be asked to be at Pier 25 on the Hudson River Gateway at 20:00 EDT. This is to be one of the craziest public stunts Charlie Todd (Improv Everywhere Founder) has come up with, the experiment features masks, cameras and glow sticks ! With an expected turnout of more than 3,000, its almost guaranteed to be epic.

Tekken: Blood Vengeance 3D

Namco’s biggest fighting franchise gets the 3D treatment it deserves. Tekken : Blood Vengeance takes place between the events of Tekken 5 & Tekken 6. The film follows Ling Xiaoyu as she tries to infiltrate an international school in Kyoto. This is the first 3D Tekken film and has a lot to live up to, hopefully it will contain all the fast action combo’s that we all know and love.

The film will only air on July 26th at 19:30 following the film there will be exclusive interviews with the Tekken project director and screenwriter. For a list of participating box office theaters visit www.FathomEvents.com .
