There’s something about Target that entrances me; I mean, where else can you go and get an Alexander Wang collaborative tee, laundry detergent, a picture frame, Xbox and your groceries….ALL IN ONE PLACE?

Up until now, the only thing missing was Apple’s fabulous collection of tech candy – but all of that is about to change.  This season, Apple will be opening a series of mini-stores inside of select Target retail locations, similar to the current Apple stations that are in Best Buy.  If you live close to one of the 25 participating locations, you are a lucky son-of-a-gun.

This crafty gentleman’s (via ch00ftech) brand new shades would put those cheap sunglasses that you wore on New Year’s Eve to shame. By adding some wire, a 9 volt battery, a mic and some other items, these glasses went from blocking the light to creating its own light show. Inspired by Kanye West’s “Stronger”, he and his friend Jordan create glasses that dance to the music.

The set-up of the device is fairly easy however,I’ll be honest – it can be a bit tedious.  BUT, after scrolling through the various choices, completing the steps of all your programs, Pandora ect, and finding some speakers to connect to, you’re all set.  The connectivity is great, with only a few static moments or buffering.  You can set a number of different stations for each one of the supported channels, and start listening in under a minute.

Just like with every device, there are the pros and cons.  In the age of the smartphone, it is far more practical to connect your own handheld device to a dock or simply stick headphones in and go.  However, if you are a text junkie and addicted to apps, you may not want to be inconvenienced with switching back and forth between apps or always having to have your phone occupied.  It is a genuine addition to any home or office space – something stationary, like a t.v.

With the holiday’s coming up, I could easily see this being a perfect gift for your parents or someone with a no so busy lifestyle. Make the purchase, add their personal preferences, and introduce them to a lifetime of easy relaxation.

Somehow, I think that the US Department of Transportation, Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration would not be the first in line to approve this one. Our friends at Japan’s biggest toilet maker, TOTO, have taken the idea of renewable energy to a whole new level of… I don’t know how you say… ‘freshness’ with their invention of the first bike that’s powered entirely by human waste. Yes, you read that right. You can now poo and drive in Japan.

The Toilet Bike Neo runs using biogas converted from the feces of the rider, collected on the rider’s own personal bike toilet seat. No, you can’t poop and drive. But you can pull over, do your duty, and be on your way. Add to that, the Toilet Bike plays music, displays messages via light imagery, and talks. I don’t think you can bridge nature and technology any better than that, although I’m sure there’s a decency law keeping the Toilet Bike from coming to our shores.
