Finally…A Use For Phone Books.

Finally…A Use For Phone Books.

I’m not entirely sure why phone books are still in existence, with the dominance of this small thing called the internet taking over the planet.  However, without them, Alex Queral wouldn’t have been able to create these amazing three-dimensional portraits.  Using a small, sharp knife, Queral peels away the pages like the skin of an onion to reveal the resulting portraits shown here.  via Design Fetish Continue Reading

Cynthia Rowley x Band-Aid

Cynthia Rowley, known for her high style, is kissing your boo-boos. Well, sort of. She’s teamed up with Band-Aid to bring a lovely little collection of “Dress-Up Band-Aids.”

$10 gets you a chic metal tin of 20 ( buy them here).  One dollar from the sale of each tin will go to Design Ignites Change, an organization that engages high school and college students in design and architecture projects that address social issues in their own communities. Wherever Left Eye is, I hope she knows her impact is still being felt in the most whimsical and hearty ways.

The Inspiration Pad.

Marc Thomasset’s Inspiration Pad is so simplistic and delightful: a notebook with unconventional lines. None of that straight across boredom.

No, no. Some of the pages look like a maze, others are psychedellic but they all are meant to inspire creativity. Buy it
