2009 was a huge year for Twitter, and many people caught onto the movement in their own special way. TweetBookz is one of those companies, which launched a series of customizable books that held all of your most memorable tweets. Each book comes in either soft or hard cover, and can hold up to 200 tweets. For $20, you can own your own, or gift one to your favorite follower!

N.E.R.D’s own, Pharrell, takes to the design world again, this time in the form of jewelry. He has created a line of necklaces using a Mario Kart aesthetic, but far more posh. Seeing him wear these makes me want to sing, ‘ooooooh, I think I love you….’. via high Snob

A new trend has emerged in the art world, with the introduction of these carved leaves. Using an extreme amount of patience and precision, the artist scrapes off the leaf’s outer layers, revealing its near transparent surface. The preferred leaves of choice are coveted leaves of a Chinar tree. If you have never seen one, it’s probably because they are native to India [although, you could've fooled me...they look just like Maple leaves]. Check out some of my fav’s, or these rest here.

QuestLove has more than 1 million followers, and today, all of us were treated to an inside peek at NBC’s homage to Black History Month. It seems that the network’s cafeteria prepared a special treat, serving the items listed in the photo below.

Later, QuestLove tweeted that he would be taking a small break from Twitter, as it seems NBC wasn’t too ecstatic about his twitpic LOL. What do you think, offensive or comical?

I came across the site of Kelly Coats, an artist and musician that is based out of Los Angeles. Back in 2005, she created this old school toy known as a phenakistiscope, that creates an optical illusion when spun. Titled the Epic Thriller, the toy reveals the transformation of Michael Jackson through the years, in an oddly fascinating way. Click here to see it in action.

It’s no secret that all of us here at NerdLike are BlackBerry converts [with the exception of Kutty, who recently switched back], so we have been swimming in the world of Apps, trying to pick out the good from the bad. We were recently sent a copy of SoHo In My Pocket to review, and instantaneously fell in love. Tennille, one of our loyal readers and affiliates, volunteered to review the App, since she is a New Yorker.
App Info:
Like shopping in the SoHo & NoLita neighborhoods of New York City? All those great boutiques, restaurants, bars, hotels, and more jammed into 50 city blocks. SOHOinmypocket is the ultimate shopping map & directory, updated monthly, to help guide you through all there is to do and see in SoHo. Plus, we have teamed up with retailers, restaurants, hotels, & bars to advertise great deals & discounts; many only available on the SOHOinmypocket App. Download it on iTunes today!
A necessity for everyone exploring SoHo, whether you’re a local or new to town.
Complete information for the 50 city blocks that comprise SoHo and NoLita.
Categorized Directory containing address, telephone, and website for each listing.
Interactive map depicting location of all listings.
Auto-locate feature shows you where your are in SoHo.
Turn by turn directions to your directory destination.
Getting around SoHo has never been SO EASY!
Review:
Being a New Yorker, I seem to still get turned around when shopping in SoHo from time to time. I must say, this was a very helpful app. The directory literally has every business location in the area listed, so no matter what you are looking for SoHo in my pocket will help you find it. Here are some of my favorite features of the App:
- Restrooms awesomely helpful
- Deals~super cool to have for sales and discovering new shops
- Maps gives accurate directions from your location but do not include train station locations
Reccomendations:
While overall, the App ranked a 4 out of 5 for me, I have a couple of recommendations I would love to see in the update.
- Since most users of this app may be visiting New York, business hours would help them plan their shopping trip better.
- Would love to see cinema theaters like ‘Film Forum’ and ‘Angelika Film Center’ in the directory
- ‘Toys in Babeland’ is now called just ‘Babeland’ so more frequently checking directory info would be helpful.
- Although I love how the directory is listed by distance from your location, it should be in alphabetical order by default, scrolling up and down took too much time. Also, each time I opened the app it needed to refresh which takes battery life and time. I think it would be helpful to have offline directory download on your phone. I did not have service in the UGG store, so I had to go outside to refresh the app and find my next store.
- The Apple store is another hidden gem in that they often have concerts/events that could be added to the deals or updates. They also welcome customers to charge their phones and use the restroom.

In the event that you are the last human on Earth that has not converted to Gmail, this interesting email analysis will determine what kind of person you are dependent on the email server you are using. Since most of the modern world is using Gmail, we’ll start with that.
GMAIL USERS
You’re a non-offensive hip guy who stays on top of all the trends. 90% of your time is completely consumed by G-chatting all day long. The other 10% of your time is spent worrying that GMail is becoming too mainstream. You’re debating switching over to an @mac address, but you have to get new Converse sneakers first.
AOL USERS
You were the coolest dude around in the 90’s. Everyone loved your dial-up jokes, Clinton impressions, and fluorescent warm-up jackets. But now you’re just another middle-aged parent living in the suburbs with no time to go online. Your computer use is limited to forwarding chain letters and surfing chat rooms with the hope of cybering.
MSN/HOTMAIL USERS
You could spend all day watching Hulk Hogan’s reality show reruns. Unfortunately, the prison has strict TV watching hours. Your inbox is filled up with e-mails from lonely women and Viagra-related spam.
YAHOO USERS
You got your e-mail address during the AOL pay-for-Internet era. Although you were dying for a cool screen name, you were too poor to shell out the monthly fee. It’s now your go-to spam e-mail address whenever you’re filling out online forms or trying to create multiple accounts on one website.
