20th Century Fox is living for the GIF this year, going as far as to implement the use of a GIF for an iconic image for The Wolverine. Instead of a traditional movie poster, we get a cool “giffy” that moves – which is ultimately nerdlike and cool. Done for the upcoming sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the fly promo gives us a sneak peek at The Wolverine.
If you’re wondering why they decided to use a GIF, it’s probably because it was the one thing that was ultimately winning in 2012 . In fact, you can say that 2012 was the year of the GIF, not 2 Chainz. It was already crowned as word of the year back in November, and every meme making tumblr-er or glamour trap rapper has used the GIF in one way or another this year. Nothing works better in the world of PR than a trifecta of promotion, ratchetness and entertainment. via
