E3: Kirby’s Epic Yarn & Nintendo’s Epic Lines.

The first day of E3 was a madhouse.  Literally every gamer from all four corners of the world gathered together in one space to see what were going to be the hottest games of the third and fourth quarter.  If you have been following the tweets/news/blogs then you know that Nintendo had a huge showing at the event, with numerous new games [everything MotionPlus integrated], including the new Kirby Epic Yarn.

Kirby is a classic character throughout the Nintendo gaming series, but this time around we get something a bit different. The characters are all done as yarn outlines and the levels look like swatches of cloth, which are both integral parts of the game play. Kirby, done in a pink yarn to match his original character, can not only do his traditional actions, but he can through himself around like a whip to hit, latch or sling items. He can also use his yarn body to thread or unsew certain areas of the level to reveal cheats and shortcuts. Genius.

And just for your enjoyment, getting to play the game was no easy feat.¬† I had to wait in line for damn near an hour [yes, even as Media] and then go through the live demo with the rep before actually playing.¬† All for you NerdLikes…all for you.¬† Check out the line for the Nintendo 3DS!
