How on earth did these faux furry friends manage to gain the cooky accliam once given to Cabbage Patch Kids and Tickle Me Elmo, I will never know. But the Zhu Zhu hamsters are going for up to four times their selling price on eBay these days  and stand to make their company, Cepia LLC, a whopping 100 milli by the end of the year.
Yep, since Black Friday, it’s these motorized hamsters that wiggle their noses and squeak like the real rodents that have parents running a rat race, paying up to $60 for what usually costs $9.99. Fake hamsters on the NRF Top Toys list alongside Barbie and them? I just don’t get it.
The next time Malcolm Gladwell speaks on the tipping point, I do hope he uses the Zhu Zhu to explain the boom of trends.

Yea, wierd top toy if you ask me. Maybe parents like that you dont have to feed it, clean up its poop, etc…
fake hype. all bullshhhhh marketing.
