Shel Silverstein was my favorite author as a child. Not one of the favorites…but THE favorite. So when I came across this article in Boing Boing, I had to go check it out.¬† Turns out that in the early 60s [far before my time LOL] Mr. Silverstein released a book entitled Uncle Shelby’s ABZ Book. While slated as a children’s book, it doesn’t quite read as one LOL.
It goes through the ABC’s with dry, sarcastic humor such as:
T is for TV: See the nice TV. The TV is warm… The TV loves you. Do you know that there are little elves who live inside the TV? …If you take Daddy’s hammer and break open the TV you will see the funny little elves. What will you name them?

I suddenly feel the urge to procure said book…
and where would I find this book? LOL! My kind of humer. dry and sarcastic!
