Shake it like a Polaroid Picture. Or a Fuji.

Not so long ago, when Polaroid announced the end of old school instant photography, there was an uprising. Websites popped up, petitions were signed. We bought as much of the cooky film as we could. My Polaroid sits on my bookshelf and once or twice a year, I snap a few shots.

Now, Polaroid tried to upgrade their classic camera with this PoGo cam ($180). Essentially, it’s an instant digicam with a built in printer. But it’s nothing like the raw, honesty that an old-school Polaroid frames.¬† So here comes the Fuji Instax Mini 7

I discovered it over at Urban Outfitters, while doing some online window shopping. The toy-like plastic camera has LED exposure indicator , auto focus, auto flash and a built-in lens cover. It shoots credit card sized Polaroid-like frames and even has the old school cartidge film ($30 for a two-pack). Steep for film, I know. And the camera isn’t cheap either. It goes for $130 at Urban and about $85 on Amazon.¬† Who knows, maybe one day we will all shake it like a Polaroid, Fuji picture…

It will probably get Polaroid to kick it i gear and come out with a camera of it's own that's cheaper and shaken not stirred. ;)

You can buy the exact same camera at Target for $89. A ten pack of film costs ten dollars. AND It is a Polaroid brand camera. I love, I have taken about 100 pictures in the last…nine months, without any trouble. It doesn't do too well in highly lit places like the beach, or out in the open with too much sun. The photos get too white-washed if its super sunny. All in all it is a great camera, nothing compared to my Polaroid Impulse, but the film for that one is more than what I pay for gas, and some times more than I make in a pay check.
