Rachel Roland is the Chief Bath Mixologist at Joyful Bath Company, a shop that offers luxurious and therapeutic bath salt blends that are based on the ocean‚Äôs natural healing powers and inspired by bathing rituals and remedies from around the world.¬† After a long career in photography and marketing, she went back to school to pursue one of her first loves; creation.¬† Roland received a Masters in agronomy‚Äîsoil science‚Äîthe study of the clays, minerals and elements found in soil…something that would eventually pay of and prompt her to start the all natural healing company that is Joyful Bath Company.
One of my favorite parts of Joyful Bath Company’s products is the fact that they use all natural ingredients, with a typical jar of bath salts formulated with mineral-rich salts from the Mediterranean and Dead Seas mix with honey, buttermilk, ginger root, green tea, oats, coconut milk and pure essential oils.¬† Even when you open up the jar and take a whiff, you will find no synthetic fragrances, artificial colors/dyes, parabens. or any other yucky ingredients you don’t want on your skin.¬† And one more thing, they are animal friendly.
Every variation of bath salts offered in their shop is just as purposeful as it is luxurious.  From their Mellow Yellow Bath Salts that boast a relieving quality, to their Green Tea Glee which offers a recharging bath experience [who would've thought?], there is truly something for everybody here. Joyful Bath Company sent me a jar of their Nilla Buttermilk Renewing Bath Salts to try out, and boy was I impressed.  First off, the packaging is beautiful, making it perfect for not only a personal purchase but to gift to a relative or maybe use as a white elephant/secret santa party.
The Bath Salts came with a catalog for re-orders as well as a suggested uses sheet, that I ended up hanging up in my bathroom for quick reference.  Immediately, I was intrigued by their Power Bath suggestion, since I have two kids, work at home and pretty much have zero time for a real relaxing bath.  The Power Bath is where you fill up the bath tub about 2 inches and pour some of the salts in the bottom.  You then turn on the shower, lay down in the mini bath for 2 or 3 minutes, and then continue on with your shower.  Now, I was skeptical about this at first [given the short amount of soak time], but let me tell you, it worked. The Nilla Buttermilk left my skin feeling silky soft, as well as hydrated, and the added bonus was that I smelled like pancakes and cookies for the rest of the day LOL.
Another great thing about these jars is how long they last.  I have had the 8 oz. jar for roughly 4 months, using it frequently, and I am just about half done.

All of these sounds great – especially Citrus Buzz and Green Tea Glee, though I think I'd pick the citrus buzz for the skin softening honey. Plus I bet the grapefruit smell would not only lighten my spirit, but the spirits of those around me.
I would choose the Citrus Buzz bath salt if I won!
