Today we celebrate the birthday of one of the most influential producers ever in hip-hop. While I have often been quoted as saying that I cannot stand Dilla bandwagoners, that doesn’t discount the mark he left on the movement and how he raised the bar. For me, it wasn’t just the mans talent but his versatility and his ability to translate life through music that sets him apart from the rest.
