The Princess and the Frog isn’t just a landmark in Disney movies for its first black princess. The film is also the first hand-animated feature film in nearly six years and artists way of proving that hand-drawn work isn’t dated. Check out the full story in WSJ

I appreciate art in all of its many forms, but I still appreciate traditional animation as long as it’s engaging.

Me too! I was at a presentation this spring, where Disney announced the return to hand-drawn animation for this film, and the room full of black women ages 30 and up exploded in applause. There's just something so magical about traditional animation. Maybe because it's nostalgic for many of us. The newest generation of young'uns might think it old-fashioned by the time they're our ages.
