Google Chrome 9 (Beta) Available Now For Mac/Linux

By Kutty

I know it seems we are on the Google train today, but they have just released their Chrome browser (beta) for Mac/Linux. Now this is not to be confused with the Chrome OS announcement from few weeks ago. Although, many believe that the Chrome browser will be the basis for the Chrome OS.

The new browser is really nice. Although, I will say I use a lot of extensions in Firefox and trying to get things done without them is a little weird. But besides that, Chrome is pretty fast and looks google-y. I have been using it for the last hour or so and I am pretty impressed. Very solid and looks like a winner. Now I just have to decide how many browsers am I really going to use. I currently have 4 installed on my machine now. :]

Note: This is a beta release. It is not final and may come with some bugs here and there. If you are not the most savvy person on the computer, I might hold off until the kinks are worked out. However, if you are the adventurous type, GO GET IT!

Hop on over and give it a test run.

p.s. If you are on the Windows version of Chrome, the extensions page is up.
