The National Wildlife Federation has teamed up with Where the Wild Things Are, to launch Be Out There, a national campaign to get families and kids to spend daily time outdoors for a healthier mental and physical state. Today is the National Wild Rumpus Day celebration, but they hope it turns into a movement.
Be Out There is all about inspiring kids to see the outdoors as their favorite playground, where it’s OK to be free to let the imagination run wild (as long as no hot air baloons involved). Their motto is imagine, discover and daydream. Visit the site for plenty of resources and information and a National Wildlife Federation Where The Wild Things Are poster and activity guide.

My son likes to go outside and pretend he is a famous football player, any girls around are the cheerleaders, and I am the referee.
