There is something classic about Winne the Pooh and his friends at the Hundred Acre Wood. It’s something you hope to never see recreated in CGI or remade without great tribute. But we are living in a remix era.
So a new version of A.A. Milne’s story of Winnie the Pooh has been released.
Return to the Hundred Acre Wood is the first authorized sequel to the Winnie the Pooh tales. Written by David Benedictus and illustrated by Mark Burgess, the two attempt to recreate the golden characters. I’m half way through the book and so far, it’s alright. It feels a bit like an imitation rather than a tribute, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t smile at a few things. Still, there is nothing like the real thing.
