Here at Nerdlike, we receive quite a few things in the mail that are, to put it lightly, not worth the packages in which they were sent. However, when we received the Mophie Juice Pack Air, I was quite excited. I had been keeping track of the product online and was glad to put it through its paces.
The MJPA uses a 1200-mAh battery inside a plastic case that fits over your iPhone 3G or 3GS. Considering the bulk and sight of other iPhone cases, the MJPA looks very nice. It comes in three different colors (White, Purple, and Black) and is made of a hard plastic that wraps around the sides and back of the phone.
At $79.95, the MJPA is the best mobile charger that I have used. It provides virtually double the battery life for a typical user, and though I do not consider myself a typical user, received more than enough juice. Depending on my usage, I can probably count on my battery giving out on my phone in about 6-10 hours. I know that is a wide range, but my twitter and internet usage vary from day to day. However, after slapping the case on, I was easily able to make it through a day and a half . In addition to its charging capabilities, the case has a pass through micro USB that allows you to sync and charge the iPhone.
My only gripe is that the case uses a micro-USB charger. not the stardard mini-USB.
Mophie also makes a case for the iPod Touch, but the MJPA can also be used for your iPod Touch in a bind. In fact, I used it for my iPod when I was rushing out one night and wanted to watch/listen to the movie Gladiator as I drove. I know it sounds weird, but I like to listen to movies while I drive.
At $80, it is a bit steep when you can just buy a car charger. However, if you have the coin to drop, it is definitely worth it. So all of you travelers out there, that are scared to watch movies on your iPhone because of the battery life, the Mophie is your sleek-ish solution.
