Live Footage of Anne Frank

Posted by: NickieDee on October 23 2009.

OK, this is totally amazing to me.

According to The Anne Frank House (Amsterdam Museum), this the only live footage that was caught of Anne:

July 22 1941. The girl next door is getting married. Anne Frank is leaning out of the window of her house in Amsterdam to get a good look at the bride and groom. It is the only time Anne Frank has ever been captured on film. At the time of her wedding, the bride lived on the second floor at Merwedeplein 39. The Frank family lived at number 37, also on the second floor…

Anyone that knows me know that I am a big fan of The Diary of Anne Frank , so it’s great to see that there is a community of artists/curators who cares about keeping her story alive.
