TorchBearer Sauces Review & Giveaway!

After roughly 4 years in business, TorchBearer Sauces has taken the world by storm. Offering not only a healthy product [low in carbs, low sodium, gluten free, and vegetarian friendly], the taste factor is undeniable, as they are the winners of over 38 National Awards.

Torchbearer was nice enough to send me a couple of their most popular sauces, the Sultry Sauce and the Sugar Fire Dessert Sauce. My husband is a hot sauce fanatic, so he was basically waiting by the mailbox for the box to arrive. First off, the branding on these bottles is crazy! Comical, fun and sarcastic, they are a perfect tie in to the sauces.

After dabbing the Sultry sauce on everything from chicken to carrots, I decided to use it in a couple of recipes. First, I made some spinach, feta and ricotta cheese bites [wrapped in filo dough] and decided to use the sauce both inside and as a dip.

The consistency of the Sultry Sauce is more like a salsa.  Unlike a traditional hot sauce [Frank's Red Hot or Red Rooster] it’s full and thick.  You almsot have to pop the bottle to get it to run.  However, the flavor is nothing like a salsa.  It has a deep spice that is versatile enough to use on all of your favorite foods.  However, be careful, a little bit of this sauce goes a long way.

Next, I pulled out the Sugar Fire Dessert Sauce, which honestly, after tasting, I wanted to just eat out of the jar. It is the fruit equivalent to Mexican Hot Chocolate….the decadence of a dessert but a kick of spice at the end. It is a delicious blend of mango, papaya, mandarin oranges and what else…habanero. While my initial thought was to marinate some chicken in this, or use it as an ice cream topping….I decided to do something a little different.

While I don’t have a picture of the final product, I do have one of the batter after it was mixed and poured. Take a look at the orange and gold flecks you see in the chocolate batter. Delicious. When these were done, they were just like a Mexican Hot Chocolate, moist, flavorful and while you didn’t taste the spice right off the bat, there was a constant reminder of the habanero with a subtle heat at the end of each bite.

Overall, I highly recommend these sauces, which were both delicious and versatile. To be honest, I didn’t even know these were on the healthy side until gathering information for the review; the taste is so good that I almost don’t believe it.

I would love to have some of the sultry sauce and pop it in the crockpot wiht some skirt steak. Then when it’s done make some tacos with it.

On tacos…because that’s where hot sauce goes. =P

Kidding; sort of. Aside from that, I’d add it to pepper pasta dishes. Yummers.

I’d copy your brownie idea with the dessert sauce. I’d used the other on my grilled chicken

I’d use it as dippin’ sauce. Mmmmmmmm

  7. I would use the Sultry Sauce as a marinade for some chicken, then use a little more to top it off.

I would drizzle the desert sauce over FRIED ice cream… and use the hot sauce on any and all types of chicken… especially the chicken that I roll into croissants packed with spinach and fetta cheese. I usually put basil sauce in those, but I would like to try the hot sauce instead :)

I would use the Sultry Sauce maybe with pasta, I usually use tabasco with my spaghetti and that is getting a bit old, time to move on to new things! I would probably use the Sugar Fire to mix with ice cream .. or maybe incorporate into frostings for cakes/cupcakes somehow!
