Pepsi may have gone too far this time, pushing the advertising envelope by unleashing an ad campaign based around a suicidal calorie, who is trying to end his life in some very graphic, and violent ways. This is quite disturbing for me, as Pepsi has always been a household name in my family. Branding is everything and I am not sure I am comfortable with my kids, let alone any other ankle biters around me, subscribing to the idea that suicide=humor. Brilliant tactic there, bro. “This advertisement is disgusting and unfit to the published. Click the link below to see more!” Congratulations, you’re falling right into Pepsi’s plan. This is exactly what they want.
FWIW, I think the other two ads are dumb and probably do “go too far.” This one, not so much.
